Just about every consequence that Proposition 8 advocates predict will happen in the wake of same-sex marriage is already happening. Same-sex marriage advocates uniformly damn them as "lies, lies, all lies!," but there's just too much proof, and it's flooding in daily.
Here's another piece of it. In Montana, where voters rejected same-sex marriage four years ago by a 2-1 margin, a judge nevertheless awarded shared custody rights over an 8 year old boy and a 5 year old girl to the former same-sex partner of a now married adoptive mother. The lesbian couple shacked up for a time. One of the women adopted the two children and became the legal mother. The couple separated. The mother changed her mind and married a man. The former lesbian partner then sued and won parental rights! Now what? I mean, for the kids? Mommy and mommy and maybe, daddy? What if Mommy 2 marries or shacks up again? What if partner of Mommy 2 sues for parental rights? Who are the grandparents? Adoption is supposed to be a high hurdle for the benefit of the children, not for the adult seeking validation, and prevention of chaos is surely one of the least reasons why.

The separation of the social and legal rights and incidents of the marriage institution is bound to lead to these chaotic consequences. Same-sex marriage and things like it will lead to further familial anarchy, legal chaos, and worst of all, dilution of children's family ties and natural attachments.
