Mormons have donated 40% of the $22+ million (more like $25 million) trying to save normal marriage in California. It's the single, largest donor group. But they're far from alone. The other great faiths are pitching in, mightily. Catholic fraternal organization Knights of Columbus donated over $1 million all by itself, and did so at a time when seed money was sorely needed. These kinds of things are often like snowballs rolling downhill, with the first large donations making up the original little snowball.
At any rate, if Prop. 8 passes, we can expect the more radicalized left to lash out at the churches that played so prominent a role. Steel yourselves, keep a stiff upper lip, and be kind and respectful to all.
