California Assemblyman Chuck DeVore has posted on his website a great editorial complete with instructions on how teachers can demand refunds of the political portion of their dues paid to the California Teachers Association. DeVore asks:
DeVore suggests that teachers who disagree and who want to take a stand
follow the instructions here to get about a $300 refund of their dues. That should make an impact. DeVore suggests teachers who want to support Proposition 8 turn around and donate that refund to www.protectmarriage.com.
My two cents is not really a suggestion, but just a "what if."
What if a very large number of public school children were sick and absent on Monday, October 20th, all throughout the state? Would that have an impact on funding and school budgets? What if.
