Random Thoughts About Marriage on the Eve of Election

  • If everybody practiced homosexual union, the human race would go extinct.
  • Everybody deserves a mother and a father. You had a mother and a father, didn’t you?
  • Modern liberals tend to breed themselves out of existence.
  • A vote for Obama is a vote to spread homosexual marriage. I promise.
  • Of course gay marriage will be taught in public schools. There isn’t a single constitutional right that isn’t.
  • It can’t be the law not to teach the law.
  • Shall we make the law based on certain people’s intimate desires, or based on what is best for the human race?
  • You say we should not consult religion as we define marriage. Fine, so long as you promise not to consult your own sexual orientation. It’s at least as irrational.
  • Expect even more vandalism and violence from homosexual marriage advocates.
  • Particular vices are never alone. They come in clusters.
  • How would you like to have been raised by two of you?
  • Let’s not screw up all important institutions for the next generation. We’ve screwed up the economy pretty badly. Let’s not screw up marriage, too. Normal marriage works pretty well, overall. Why roll the dice?
  • This is a cultural constitutional convention. The People reign supreme and shall have their say.
  • Since the beginning of the Prop. 8 campaign in the summer, I’ve heard the words “Sodom and Gomorrah” only once.
  • How does same sex marriage affect my marriage? Just for starters, the California Supreme Court rewrote my legal marriage covenant with my wife when it redefined marriage for everybody. I don’t appreciate it.
  • Saying that procreation isn’t an essential characteristic of marriage is like saying cars have nothing to do with transportation. Exceptions don’t change the nature of the thing. (From an argument by marriage expert and author, David Blankenhorn.)
  • I’m disappointed that Apple donated to No on 8. Our family computer system is based on Apple. We can’t afford to leave Apple, right now. Until I think of something better, I’ll continue to use Apple equipment to support normal marriage.
  • Homosexual couples are utterly dependent  upon heterosexual union to acquire children.
  • Anger and greed are desires just as natural as homosexual orientation, and we have a duty to put a lid on those impulses, don’t we?
  • All arguments for homosexual boil marriage down to this, “Because I want it, it must be right. Therefore, give it to me.”
